John Zorn was walking in New York City, and as a child played piano, guitar and flute.
Before releasing albums on several American and Mediterranean labels, Zorn signed with the Elektra-Nonesuch label and attracted wide acclaim in 1986 with his interpretations of sculpture composed by Miles Davis, the album [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in 1998 and the first album by Naked City in 1990.
Early major compositions included more "game pieces", in which performers are allowed to improvise while following certain structural rules.
